“Ammassati”: stories of the old town at the Museo dei Brettii e degli Enotri
Museo dei Brettii e degli Enotri, Cosenza
A project collecting objects, memories and stories from the people of the old town, starting from the Massa district. It begins on Sunday 11 October: a walk through the neighbourhood in the morning and, from 4 pm, a cataloguing session at the museum. A second workshop on 25 October; the project runs until 11 December. You can still bring objects until 18 October, Tuesday to Friday (5–7 pm).
Four days of chocolate, pastry and creativity along Corso Mazzini, in the modern centre, a few minutes' walk from the old town. The organisers have announced some new features (“create, think, bet”) to be revealed in the coming days.
WineArt Festival · Museum & Wine, awards and tasting
Villa Rendano, Via Triglio 21
The festival closes at Villa Rendano: special opening of the museum (5:30 pm), awards for the label competition (6:30 pm), a guided sensory tasting and food.
After an inspection by the mayor, work has resumed on the escalators serving the old town, slowed by supply problems and technical difficulties. The Piazza Spirito Santo committee welcomes the restart and asks for answers on other works still pending in the historic centre.
The Villa Vecchia is back for the people of Cosenza
After a restoration funded by the “Centro storico” development contract (CIS, about €2.7 million), the city's oldest park was reopened on 20 June 2025 with music, markets, food tastings and a hot-air balloon with a view over the city.
The city steps in on at-risk buildings in the old town
For the first time the city council is directly intervening on ten dangerous private buildings in the historic centre, with CIS funds. Works were expected to finish by 2026 and also include accessibility measures, with escalators and lifts.
